    Compressor performance calc

New customer!! Got a copeland cr18kq-tf5-980wb on a walk-in running r-22. Suction 62psi head is 310. Amp draw seems low at only 3.5. Suction line is warm. I didn't even measure it. Won't pump down either. Can someone run this through the calc. I don't have the program anymore. Thanks

Copeland's Compressor Performance Calculator says with a 230V supply at those pressures on R22, that compressor should draw 5.0 amps.

Thanks Ice! I ended up throwing a new compressor in it yesterday. Suction ended up slightly lower, Head slightly higher, amp draw now 4.6. SH was down too. Box is pulling down to 35 and cycling off. Amazing!! I hope it works now. The previous company was fired over this thing.

This link is for Copeland's Product Selection Software, which is the newer version of the now obsolete, Compressor Performance Calculator...which I liked a lot better.

It's free for download, but you'll need to complete an application form and submit it via email to receive authorization for the download. We have found that their system won't accept emails from Gmail and some others, so use Outlook Express and you should be OK.

If you don't have Outlook, call them. I had to send a copy of the completed form and got the authorization shortly after. They may have corrected this bottleneck, but if not, that's what I did...PITA that is was.

Ice, the link appears to be dead. Can you guys upload the program to the educational forum. Or does copeland not want you to?

Got it! I had to re-register my username. Waiting on an email that contains an activation code to launch the software I guess? .PIA!!! Took a long time to install too!!
    Thanks again!

Nevermind, i opened the program a second time and it seems to be working even without the activation code.
