Six Years with no cleaning according to customer
This has to be the most mold I have ever seen on an ice machine. If you look at the manifold this growing lifeform had attained a state of equilibrium in this ice machine.
I asked the customer if there were complaints from customers about black specks in their ice. She informed me no.
The water inlet valve failing was the only reason they had put in a service call.
This machine was so dirty I didn't even remove the front cover all the way when diagnosing this IM. I didn't want their customers to see it. Once I replaced the inlet valve, I quickly broke down the machine and took it in the back room to clean it.

I have cleaned a lot of dirty hoshizaki distribution tubes but that is far and away the worst I have ever seen.

Sweet! .... Nothing more appetizing than a nasty ice machine.
