    Obama Care Survives

Yep, 5-4 vote with Roberts being the swing vote. So what do you think that will do for his re-election chances ?

Since the majority of Americans are against this disaster of a bill I see a big back lash coming.

I dont know if it will make a big change. The people who were going to vote for him will still vote for him after this; those who were against him certainly won't change their minds now. I guess you could argue it will motivate those againist Obama a bit more....

It's such a confusing issue. Most polls show Americans are in favor of the specific changes that would occur, but against Obamacare in totality. I'm in that boat -- health care costs have thrown my family for a loop several times, but I'm not sure the the total cost of this package make sit worth it.

Word is that Romney's website is crashing from millions of people trying to make campaign donations.

So yeah...Obama might have won the battle, but I bet he loses the war.

I see a huge backlash. So live it up libz. Romney will just do away with it all together.

And we'll get rid of a wanna-be banana republic dictator.

I hope so, but it'll take more than just him. He'll need both houses to cooperate with him, and that isn't likely with the senate.

But maybe if people are mad enough about this....

It's too late. Most of the taxes do not take place till after the election, and then really hit hard after he is out of office during an R presidency. (Imagine that) Yes I predict he wins. He will win the war, the war against America, by destroying it from within.

    This quote from a Japanese Admiral just after the Pearl Harbor attack came to mind;

It just reaffirms that this was a tax increase the whole time. Another lie from a President. The lies from the Democrat represetitves that said they were spat upon by Tea Party members.

If the Democrat for your area claims after this that he doesn't agree or isn't going to go to the convention know he is lying.

This isn't about health care. This is about the limitless expansion of the federal governmemt.

From today on they can tax your behaviour.

How will Romney reconcile that he was in favor of the individual mandate in 2007? What was his fundamental change that brought him around on it? I haven't seen a clear explanation yet...could come back to bite him if he's not careful.

It is a bit of a problem, but there is one difference; What Romney did was on the state level.

What boggles my mind is that people (Supreme Court) who have spent their entire lives studying the law and the Constitution actually support this giant leap toward socialism.

I hear that a recycling company that was trying to buy the Constitution withdrew its bid. They had planned to turn it into toilet paper but decided that there was no point since the Supreme Court has already wiped their butts with it.

While I'm not sure how this Act will look when the dust settles, I think Roberts was correct in his interpretation. From the decision, he wrote:

"Construing the Commerce Clause to permit Congress to regulate individuals because they are doing nothing would open a new and potentially vast domain to congrssional authority" and The Framers knew the difference between doing something and doing nothing. They gave Congress the power to regulate commerce, not to compel it.

It's a fine line, perhaps, but I think I prefer the Court to leave it up to the elected branches to create and shape and sometimes re-do new laws. Seems to me Roberts is acting conservatively, and that's just what I hoped he'd do.
