    Loytec LROC Room Automation Demo

I got to see this first hand when I was in Austria.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3gIbg0jjBI

It really did take less than 30 minutes to engineer and deploy controls for a five story building complete with graphics.

So if Loytec is good for simple stuff, how is it for complex stuff?

    Quite well I'm sure.
I see no reason why you couldn't do just about anything.

Did you have something in mind?

No, just trying to balance out the blatant Loytec manlove sprewed by Daryl's minions.

Obviously you have something against Daryl and that is between you two but what does that have to do with what I have posted????

What needs to be "balanced out" because if I'm misrepresenting something here then I would personally like to know?

Not speaking for kontrolphreak, but the battlescars tend to itch when Loytec is brought up

What type of control systems do others install if this system is not complex? A point the developer made that is very important is that the control system can be modified dynamically at runtime.

Any software I would utilise has a configuration tool, a Workstation software or configuration software to make system configuration changes. This is not a requirement for this control system.

Room control in itself can also have complexity. The integration is not always straightaway and sun blind or facade management control requires very exacting control schemes.

It appears this may be the first commercially available system based on the IEC 61499 standard.
