Making up Pro Vacuum Pump Tree for Cheap

Making up Pro Vacuum Pump Tree for Cheap

Helps if one has a stash of fittings.
if not visit here for an idea of what fittings are available. http://www.centurytool.net/Flared_Tu...gs_s/37883.htm

Here I'm putting together a 3/8in Tree adapter for a 6 CFM Robinair with 1/2in flare. Instructions are the same for putting together a 1/2in tree. Use a four way flare fitting for an extra port. All sorts of combinations easily achieved with this simple/strong/cheap $$ design.

    1. cut 3/8in copper to desired length

    2. Flare ends

    3. You'll need two core removal tools. one with fitting for micron gauge and 1/2in flare to 3/8in adapter.
Robinair on left, C&D Valve on right

    4. Fin .. black 1/2 hose and yellow 3/8in hose on top, both with 3/8in fittings.

here's the initial test with fitting only.. 47 microns
pulled a system down to 335 microns with 1/2in & 1/4in hose in about 10 minutes.

    test with 2x 3/8 hoses .. 100 microns
