We have 3 Carrier ICE units that are charged with R22. One is fully operational, but the other two are low on freon. We're currently planning to retrofit one of them, and use the recovered freon to recharge the other after the leaks have been repaired(schraeders in service ports need replacement, tool to do charged system swap has already been ordered).
During the retrofit, the filters and all service port schraeders will be getting replaced due to being the simplest and safest time to replace them.
After doing some research, I've come across DuPont's ISCEON MO99(R438A) as a possible direct replacement for the R22.
The condensers are Carrier 38AH-044---600 and the evaporators are ICE AC-042.
Would this be the best match for the retrofit? Also, would the charge charts(superheat) on the units line up the same?
Thank you in advance.
