Any recommendations on a protocol gateway for converting a few MODBUS TCP points to BACNet IP on the same physical network? Here's the situation:
We are wanting to start doing some power monitoring of some loads throughout our old central plant (initially the 5 large chillers). We will be getting a BacNET client license shortly for our BMS (Honeywell EBI 310). Most power meters we've found, than will fit in a standard ANSI or DIN meter space, are all Modbus based. The only decent Bacnet one we've found is the Shark 100B, which does speak Bacnet IP. The issue is connecting up a physical network is going to be a nightmare, so we are wanting to instead go wireless with it. The only wireless meters I've found that would work are the Shark 100S, which is ModBus TCP over wifi. The options then become, either purchasing yet another interface license for the EBI server, or translate the very minimal number of concerned points to bacnet via a gateway/translater. (It would seem this is even something that could run in software on the server, if such a software exists).
