Somehow my Word program changed it's format settings a long time ago.

Never could figure out how to save the correct margins... so I have to set them everytime I open up Word (PITA).

Well now, somehow I managed to save a sentence on the correct margins... and don't know how I managed to do it either.

Does anyone know how to set your page and then save it so when you open the program it is ready to type?

    Thanks!

I had the same problem. I couldn't figure it out either. I asked a friend of mine who is kind of a computer nerd and he said the only way he knew was to reinstall the word disk and select repair. I went to do that and found out my cd drive was busted. I'm on a loaner until mine gets back from repair (warranty is nice to have) and then I'll try it again.

Which Word are you using. Mine was from Office Premium 2000.

    File
    *Page Setup
    * *Default

( if that works, I'll be amazed. I'm not a Word user )

I am a word user and yup, it should work...

If not there's a more complicated way of creating a new template.

If Jules is having the same problem I was that will only work after you do it and you have to do it each time you start the program.

Hum... no default setting anywhere on that screen.

I somehow hit a key(s) when the change was saved, the thing is... I don't know what key(s) or conbination it was to correct the problem.

Ok for some reason I just found this page set-up and can no longer find the original one I posted... this computer must be possessed!

But when I click on default the page doesn't change as the page is already in default (but has my saved changes on it).

    What a mess... lol

When you exit out of the Word program it ask you to save changes and you click yes. Then it askes you to save the format changes and I click yes...

But then it tells me "this file is read-only".

Ok, that fixed the margin problem.

But the text will not disappear. For some reason it won't save the blank page as default.
