2-ton coil hooked to a 2.5 ton condensing unit

i must say i never have run into this before,2-ton slab coil connected to a furnace in an attic and it was connected to a 2.5 ton outdoor unit system is 3 years old and i did check the number of the coil and it was a 2 ton for sure.subcooling was 12 and superheat was 8 as this was a txc system with a small load on it i assumme the mismatch is what makes the superheat.airflow was more than adequate i just need to know if this was a install mistake or don on purpose to get more capacity out of the coil.

Probably would work if straight cool. Trane usually rated units with coils slightly smaller, occasionally an air handler. Usually reduced SENSIBLE capacity which increased the sensible heat ratio meaning a hair more run and a hair more dehumidification.

not sure if this means anything o blad on but the outdoor unit was a nordyne microchannel unit thats how i got called for a clean and tune,it was an aspen slab coil and had a 2 ton txv valve and with the readings i got i also had a 21 degree temp drop across the coil i really think this is what the install company planned on doing and this was not a mishap
