    York YCA O&M

Anybody know where I might find the manual for this 20 year old chiller? Tried Johnsons website, but no luck so far.

This chiller keeps giving a fault code 1 for system 1 either high or low motor current, but I never see it happen. Would like to go thru board test procedure.

    Thanks, cg

low motor current means the compressor did not try to start probably because it tripped out on high motor current. Hi motor current is caused by compressor starting loaded, high head, locking up or configuration setup wrong.
as far as the manual I would try to get intouch with jci tech support.

Can you provide e-mail I can send you a IOM for that chiller that may help you out.

You could try a tattle tale on the HP to see if it is opening. The IOM does give a procedure to display some of the system data at the time of the trip to see if maybe the head pressure is getting up too high.

dont know your location but Virginia Air in Charlotte,NC has a York commercial man that will answer your question. Ask for Norm
Two Hydrogen atoms met one day. One said to the other "I've lost my electron". The second said "Are you sure?" The first said "Yes, I'm positive".

The HP switch has been replaced with a manual reset model. I tripped it to make sure it functioned that way, and it does. I can keep this circuit running by disconnecting the unloader and letting the compressor cycle on and off. The Micro was reading about 30% current when comp is unloaded although I read about 42 amps on a 100 fla, I thought maybe that was too close to the 24% for 4 secs that would cause a f1 lockout, so I doubled one of the wires thru its transducer (2 tds - full load going thru 2 contactors) and it got the micro up to about 45%. Unit still tripped out f1 when I left the unloader connected. This whole chiller is a basket case, oil all over the place, this compressor has a nasty vibration when head pressure ramps up prior to fan coming on, other compressor is off due to no oil pressure, etc.

Thaks York56 for the IOM. Is there anything available with more info on the micro itself?
