    Hmm

    today a package unit that had a fan motor not turning the capacitor was out it tried to run for hrs probly with no condenser fan motor it was steaming hot my lowside gage pegged out after i got everything running the lowside never pulled down. the suction line was cool how come it didnt pull down. the high side was 290 -300 psi it has r22 freon and was about 100 degrees outside the compressor was making a loud hissing sound is this a bad lowside valve

    Sounds to me like you have your blue and red valve open on your gage manifold set.

    the compressor has a pressure by pass. Compressor is running, but the pressure is equalized. Turn the unit off and the valve reset.

    Occasionally those pressure bypass valves can stick.
