    Does the L-body have an O-ring seal for the bottom plate like the K-bodies?

    If, so, you may want to replace it...especially if it's been running on an HFC blend like R402A. The R22 content tends to swell o-rings and they'll shrink when you take the R22 away...ie, leak.

    Otherwise, it should work OK.

    Retrofitting to R404A is not recommended on a Copeland compressor built prior to 1973. Yours is a 1975 model so according to Copeland your OK.
