Mesh Type Material to Protect AC Equipment from Construction Dust?

Major work is being done on the facade of our Midtown Manhattan apartment building. The GC is proposing to wrap the AC condenser units and window air conditioners with a mesh like material which can purportedly allow them to be used safely, while still protecting the coils from construction dust.

My question is this… Is there any such material actually certified for this purpose?

There is filter media designed for use on exterior coils. Do you know the product that they are proposing?

I don't know the specific product they're proposing. If such material does exist (as it appears to from your reply) I'd like to compile a short list of acceptable brands.
