U should have pressurized the system with nitrogen after replacing and u would have known if a leak was present. The reason your compressor failed was because of speak.Did u very why the compressor failed

look. i know you guys think i am some sort of clown. since i am not a "professional member"

i have been doing this for a while now, and had a question. i do not deserve to be heckled.

i knew if i posted and didn't specify what EXACTLY what is was doing, you would rip me apart. hence, the specifics. ( i stumbled upon this site a few months back....and some of you guys are ruthless )

i try to learn something new everyday... that's what makes us better, right?

i do not profess to know everything, and it's impossible for anyone to claim the like

if you can answer the question....please do, and many thanks

I don't see how it would be possible unless you had a stuck check and possibly a complete restriction somewhere that the leak was between those two points and for some reason when you charged the unit something broke free and the leek showed its ugly head

try posting a question, other than can it leak one way?

if you need to ask a question like that , maybe you should be working with a journeyman.

if you are adding r22 and you are by yourself and asking these types of questions.....better get a thick skin cause you gonna need it.

    What specifics did you give?
Sorry that you think we are "ruthless" but your replies are not helping..

FWIW you should make an introduction post and tell us about you and what you do. Then apply for pro status. We can get into details there. You need WAY more info to help troubleshoot then what you provided. You should know that.

Phrases like good enough or beer can cold don't cut it here.

I guess the answer is anything is possible, just seems highly unlikely.

highly unlikely is exactly why i am stumped.

think of it this way.... if you had a cone shaped hole..... and blew air threw it. in one direction it would flow well. the other ....not so much.
