Its got nothing to do with efficiency.
The mandate to switch to 410A. was predicated on BS from the government.
So I guess the people saying 410a is more effecient and can justify a unit the size of a bunk house have never seen a high SEER r 22 unit ?

RLA is just the max that the compressor will draw before the protection trips with an adjustment factor applied. Higher rla doesn't always equate with higher running amps. See http://www.achrnews.com/articles/det...perage-ratingsThe 410 unit RLA was higher than the R22 unit for the same SEER

You guys couldn't find a "direct replacement"? I know some York units try to maintain the same curb configurations. Guess that is not the case here.
