My oxy/accy torches suck.

My torches are screwed...had a good set but the accy regulator went.

Using Chink made junk right now.

The press on both gases won't stay on the settings I set an the raise 10 psia when I am brazing..getting sputters, flame outs and soot build up in the tip.

Flame goes cold on me....just all kinds of BS.


I don't know what's good these days....any help PLEASE!

I like the " stubby handle " and the #15 heating tip.

I also like the Smith stuff but it takes me awhile to get the hang of some of those.

I use Victor regulators , man they are tough.

If you can find an old set of Linde regulators, buy them! Built like a brick outhouse and hold their settings.
I use Turbo Torch not the Cut Skill crap. But have always had problems with their regulators. They do warranty them for 3 years,I think??? Uniweld regulators the old ones anyway, were good. Don't know about the new ones.

I sure hope this isn't a rookie question: The ball valves on my torch handle are harder than hell to open after I close the. Sometime they leak by.

Is this just a worn out handle or is soot bulit up around the shut offs?

Can replacement valves be purchased or do I need a new handle too?

Considering they're Chinese junk, probably worn out. Usually they're too loose,and you have to tighten the packing nut.

You might want to Craigslist that puppy and buy a new one.

I got the Smith Quickbraze setup a few months ago. The torch handle is very small and light, and it comes with a few different tips. I brazed a 2-5/8" ball valve easily with the included tips, so it can get pretty hot. Im sure it can do larger pipe if needed as well.

They sell a kit with or without regulators.

Uniweld set for me also... with the dark green tote.

Had a regulator go out... just bought a replacement regulator at the supply house... they carry uniweld regulators singly.

I actually have more issues with my N2 regulator than my torch.

If your looking for a new set check out Smith Equipment, they have lifetime warranties and are well built. The Quickbraze looks like a nice set up as well.
