    Manitowoc genius

This was an emergency call. Maintenance man installed this and couldn't figure out the problem.

I thought the pictures were pretty easy to understand.

...And did he understand and accept that this call was not covered under the warranty?

He was not there but they got a bill

I was nice enough to leave the clip washer paper and tape with my invoice

He probably never took off the front cover. I've found the yellow tape hoshi puts on their machines in the pump and distribution tubes.

And the best thing is that Hoshi makes sure the tape runs outside the machine so you can see it-as long as you take the front panel off.

We've ran into quite a few of these. I've got three invoices on my desk currently where customers refuse to pay for our fix, stating that it should be under warranty. Frustrating.

Got a call from a retired maintenance supervisor to check his old fridge. It wouldn't start and he couldn't figure it out. The fridge was from the days when the thermostat sensed the fresh food not the freezer. No heat on in the garage put the building temp at 20 degrees F. Sorry but that's what these kind of stories always remind of. Anybody else need to be billed to remember better the next year? The ol guy gave me alot of bussiness over the years so I only charged him 10 bucks to make it sting a bit.

When Hoshizaki first came out with the flapper type bin controls i got several calls where machines would not run when started up. The shipping tape was never taken off to let the flapper hang down. The factory paid me under warranty. But now with things as tight as they are they probably wouldnt since it is really an installation issue.

at the indigo class down here, the guy said that is basically their #1 call at the tech support. That little microphone doesn't like the tape

I've seen a professionally installed indigo unit w/ shipping material on the probe, no warranty, i think the original installing company paid the invoice
