Delfield prep- water issues

Servicing a air cooled sandwich prep 1 door cooler, it has water in the refrigeration lines. Purged with nitrogen and water actual came out of suction line, I'm going to replace the compressor, but I'm wondering if I should flush system before hand with rx-11 or will blasting it some more with nitrogen do the trick. Triple evac.? I have never seen water in a system like this before and want to do it the right way. The old compressor wasn't a burn out. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

A system full of water is always a royal PITA to fix, but can be done if you have time, patience...and a customer willing to foot the bill.

I think if I had another one like this I'd go with the idea of setting up the recovery machine to recirculate refrigerant through a replaceable core HH filter-drier like condenseddave suggested.

Also, add a sightglass/moisture indicator and temporarily replace the cap tube with some 1/4 copper to allow for better recirculation, then install a new cap tube when done.

Sounds like a lot of $ .. Wouldn't the wise choice for something so small be to just junk it & go new?
