    urinals and ice cubes

Urinals and ice cubes. Why do restaurants and bars dump them in there. They don't expire. Before I pee on them they look fine. They don't have any anti bacterial qualities, at least not by the time I'm done with them.

They don't do that here in NE Alabama. Must be a Canadian thing. maybe they think you get done faster if you are thinking cold.

    Possibly to keep down odor?

What's ironic is the pee is cleaner than the ice.

Urine is sterile for the first few minutes out side of the body. Filled with toxins but still sterile.

Unless someone is sporting a urinary tract infection or bladder infection.

In that case drink lots of cranberry juice.....mixed with vodka

It's because someone keeps eating the large mints in the urinals. Are you going to partner up with hoshi to make a toilet cuber? Each flush initiates a harvest. Would give new meaning to a dump valve.

It's to keep the smell down.

A quick Googling on the subject appears to confirm the notion that ice does indeed help control odor.

A secondary benefit is it provides the user with a "target" which tends to improve aim...thus reducing restroom cleaning.

If there are cans of beer in there, then you are using the wrong bucket.
