Leaky oil sight glass on vac pump

Any body got a fix for it? The glass is pressed into the shell.

    What brand and how old?

Maybe some JB weld and pull a slight vacuum on it. I repaired many studio apartment size refrigerator evaporator coils with this method.
    May not look to pretty.

Robinair 15600....I think you mean pull a vacuum on the pump needing repair...correct?..cause the sight glass is not on vacuum side of pump....least that is what I was told by a service agent of Robinar.

    Yes

You should be able to hook another pump to the oil fill plug threads, Maybe???

Hell yeah! No maybe about it. That's a great idea...have to keep the oil level just below the sight glass to maintain a tight seal from the rest of the pump.

The head on my pump is new. Unscrewed the brass hex nut holding the sight class...no fricik' O ring! Scavenged the O ring from the old head ...screwed the brass back in...leak stopped.

    That's good news.

I had an old Welch Duoseal pump that dribbled oil everywhere. Never had to change oil in it, just topped it off now and then.
