I'm looking to buy my first micron vacuum gauge and would like you guys opinions before I take that leap. Which is the best bang for the buck? They're fairly expensive so I would like to make the right purchase the first time...

there's two pages on this already, check down towards the bottom.

Personally I'll take the Ritchie "Yellow Jacket" #69075 for the digital or the old reliable Thermal Engineering #14571 dual powered for the analog or dial style.

For small and portable the Robinair #14777 is very nice, but the cord connection has been a problem for us in the classroom. Easily fixed with a new plug from Radio Shack. I still haven't figured out a way to prevent them from growing legs and walking out of the shop.
