r12 system
I have a 3 door reach in cooler with a bad compresor. Ive never ran into this before. Whats my options as far as putting in charge

Lots of options out there.
I like MO49 primarily
or
401a for medium temp applications
401b for low temp applications

I use R-414B - 100 % success
it was working.... played with it.... now its broke.... whats the going hourly rate for HVAC repair

If I was going to change the compressor I would convert to 134A. While u have the compressor out just fluah it with rx11 and pull a good vacuum.

134a is the last refrigerant i would use....
it was working.... played with it.... now its broke.... whats the going hourly rate for HVAC repair

Why not 134A it's apparently using a txv most of the problems I have with 134A come from cap tube systems and waxing I have the same issues with all refrigerants using poe oil and cap tubes.

134a leaks where other refrigerants do not.... i quit using it years ago ...hate the stuff

I would say 401a but to each his own. I'm not a fan of hot snot or 134a. I've had issues w/ cap tubes & TEVs on anything running w poe including rtus .. We all know what the high temps do.
