You should wait. I've only used it four times, and today it failed an accidental drop test. Seems it isn't impact resistant plastic. A small sliver of plastic snapped off of the outer jaw cover. I fixed it with super glue, good as new. Next time it might not fare so well. We'll see. But, since I had to disassemble it to make that repair I went ahead and took some pics of its innards.

I stretched the spring out about an extra inch to give it more clamping strength because it was a little whimpy. Feels just like a Fluke 80PK-8 now. I also glued the sensor cup to its plastic holder (the black ring) to prevent the sensor from turning in the clamp.

That looks like an ambient sensor just behind the holes in the case.

Yes, looks like the reference thermistor. The holes/ vents (on both sides) appear to be dual purpose. You can hold it up to the light and see the thermistor midway between them.

This is an update. Don't buy this piece of junk. The plunger handle has broken off, and the calibration is off by as much as 7°. It has only been used about a dozen times and hasn't been abused. It also sometimes reads 32° out of the blue for no apparent reason.

    Rejected!

To top it off, the supply house wants to replace it rather than issue a refund or exchange. I told them I would never use the replacement because it's just junk. I guess I'm getting a replacement anyway. I'll probably toss it right in the dumpster, package and all.

Why chuck it in the dumpster, if it has warranty, just use it till it breaks and then get another replacement. A test of patience between the seller and buyer. (grin)
