Sensible Products UTC-1. I bought one yesterday. Seems pretty decent. It's like a Fluke 80PK with a meter built into the middle. Same ribbon sensor and same jaws.

Where did you buy it? How much does it cost?

It's fast, but takes a few seconds to boot up when you turn it on. It has a built in PT chart, which is pretty easy to use. I bought it at a local supply house for 98 bucks. The first price that they quoted was 113. It lists on ebay for 120.

It also has min/max and hold.

The first and only unit that I've used it on was the Trane gaspack in the picture. That unit was flooding back due to low airflow. The suction line temp, after I insulated the clamp to the line, was reading 1/2° higher than SST according to my Digi-cool gauge. That's close enough for me. The 88.5° shown in the picture was with the unit off, ambient temp.

Hold off for awhile while I give this thing a good field test. I should have more to report by the end of the week. Highs in the 90's this week, we're gonna be humping it.

The display is alot bigger than my Cooper clam. Whats with the speaker does it alarm? Or is that not a speaker I'm seeing?

I don't know what that is. Probably just ventillation to dry out any condensation. I'm going to crack it open this weekend to see how it's put together. I'll post some pictures of its innards.

BTW, yes, love the display. I have the Cooper, and its display sucks.

Thanks. I'll save a few dollars on the next one.

Used it a couple of times today. Much better than the Cooper, for the simple reason that I can actually read the display! It has great contrast. What you see is the actual LCD glass, there is no protective lens. Accuracy seems to be consistent so far.

Negatives are that it's fairly heavy and won't stay positioned on a horizontal 3/8 liquid line. The Cooper has the same issue though. I'm thinking about gluing a rubber strip on the jaw for friction.
