    What Type of shut off is used with standing pilot on a fire log system? I can not find the answer in my Uniform Mechanical Code ? anybody.

    Talking in the valve itself or separate?

    The valve itself has an electromagnetic power unit or EPU, which closes all gas flow should the thermocouple from the pilot lose sufficient voltage.
    For service convenience, all gas utilization equipment should have a Z21.15 listed ball shutoff within the specified distance and parameters. These vary btw Nat'l vs. Int'l Fuel Gas Codes, with the IFGC being much more lenient.
