Buffer tank job

Lady had a 60k boiler with a 10k load. This one was tight.

as a rule i always try and mount the expansion tank in the vertical plane, maybe i'm old school as the kids say

otherwise stellar work, i bet that boiler is way happier with the extra volume

I've never heard that about exp tank but I will keep that in mind thanks.

Also the boiler sounded rough until th buffer tank, then she purred. Everyone else wanted to sell them a new boiler, we said this is what you need, customer for once listened lol.

boilers are like dogs, give them a job to do that occupies them correctly and they're happy .. if you don't they usually end up peeing all over your floor

What is the theory? I assume the boiler was cycling on and off limit very quickly and the buffer tank allows more thermal mass to prevent this?

To stop an oversized boiler from short cycling and premature failure. Most systems are over sized and have lots of issues.

I have a bad feeling about this high eff oversized equipment, I see future problems.

I have never seen or heard of this before. How is this piped? Storage tank in series with supply/return of boiler and system secondary piped?

Ya it's basically the primary loop, there are 4 bungs the Side against the wall is the secondary side. They can be a pain to wire. I have to think every time I install one lol. You would be doing homeowners a service to recommend them, they also se you apart from the competition. I know we are the only shop using them, this was my second one.
