Question for new Installation Employee
What are some of the best questions to ask new potential Installation (possilby service) employee's? I have a assessment computer program but would like to know questions you ask or have been asked when going for a interview.
Obiously i've never had to interview before. I have some of the basic questions but they are more on the technical side. Any input would be appreciated.
Thank You.

Will this install guy be doing the start up on the new systems?
If so, he should know subcool, superheat, duct sizing and understand the principle of gravity (yes, this would be required when plumbing condensate lines). Some install guys just don't get it.
Above all, could he read the install manual and follow the manufacturer's install instructions?
Could he install the unit in such a way so that it would be easy to service or maintain?
Some of the question you should ask would not have a right or wrong answer. But would let you know that the person would have the ability to think on their feet. Everything is not cut & dried in this trade. Someone needs to be able to think and reason. Every install is a new adventure - no 2 are the same. The guy needs reasoning power and good moral character above all.
Hope this helps. Can someone please explain to me -
Why is there never enough time to do it right the first time, but plenty of time to do it twice?
