    These are the same?

According to the manufacturer, these are the same. They don't look the same.

Did the new one even fill the opening in the air handler or was air allowed to go around that drain pan at the bottom of the "A"?

It's a horizontal install if that matters at all but there is a 3 inch gap on 2 sides. Old coil is 3 rows and about 2 inches taller too.

You got it. It is a ARUF. The AHU measures dimensionally to be a 4+ ton unit according to specs but the model number is clearly a 3 ton. Even the serial number says it's a 3 ton. At least we were told it does.

It may be a 3 ton, with the correct piston and airflow. Still, it doesn't look right.

Good luck getting that bigger coil in then.

If I remember correctly, that coil is awful close to the blower.

    edit:
Nevermind. I was thinking other way around.

No need to find a coil now. We are the 4th company to fix this mess and the HO is fed up. He decided to change the whole system. No argument from us.

Seems everyone is. I saw a new American Standard the other day with an all aluminum coil. Nordyne is supposedly changing over too.
