Oil Well Fire
So one Monday morning a Texas oil-man inspecting his well-field discovers one of his wells is on fire. He immediately begins calling around to all the usual experts on well fires and finds that they're all committed elsewhere - "it'll be $25,000 but we can't get there until Thursday" or "It'll be $30,000 but we can't get there until next week."
In desperation he starts going through the yellow pages where he comes across "Jose's oil well fire fighting company". He calls the number right away and Jose tells the man that he and his crew will be out within an hour and that it will cost $10,000. Naturally the well owner agrees.
In about 45 minutes the oil man spies a well-used, obviously de-commissioned old fire truck festooned with hispanic laborers speeding through his gate. As he watches, the truck goes barreling right past his office and straight into the oily inferno. All the horrified Texan can do is watch as the truck smashes directly into the derrick and several dozen men jump off the truck stomping and beating back the fire with ponchos, shovels, sombreros, etc. until the it is finally extinguished.
Astounded, the wide-eyed man goes into his office and writes a check for $10,000. As he walks out of the office he is greeted by a slightly charred, sweating and out-of-breath Jose.
"That's the most amazing thing I've ever seen - you boys are fearless!"
"Thank you senor" is all Jose can manage.
"What are you going to do with this here $10,000 dollars?"
After a moment, Jose replies, "The first thing we are going to do is fix the brakes on the truck senor!!!"
