LonMaker Remote Full Client Issue
I am trying to set up a remote full client connection between a laptop and a server. Both machines can access the LonWorks network and open/configure devices using plug-ins in LOCAL mode. My problem is when I try to connect my laptop as a remote full client to the server. I have no problem accessing the network but when I try to monitor/configure devices an error pops up saying "Opening the STANDARD LonMark Device Resource Files. File not found in the LonMark Device Resource File catalog." I attached a screenshot for your reference. Can anybody please provide guidance?

Crab, I still get the same error. I checked my templates and xif's and both the server and the laptop has the same number and description of files. The DRF path is directed both to \LonWorks\Types. When you are connected as a client (lightweight or full), does it access the DRF's from the machine running the LNS server? They both work perfect when connected locally to the network but my client machine won't act accordingly when in client mode. Your professional advise would be much appreciated.

I would give Echelon a call/email.

Crab, I called Echelon and they advised me to create a "test" database to see if the same error occurs. I created a new database and it gave me the same error. They also asked me to check the service pack version of each machine and make sure they are updated and the same. I did and all (3) the machines has SP4 version of LM and the LNS server has SP7. I forgot to mention to you that my server runs on a Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 bit) and client laptops has Windows 7 32-bit. Does it matter? Also, I did a test and set up one of my client machines to act as the LNS server. I was able to connect to it as a remote lightweight client using the other client machine (Windows 7 32-bit to Windows 7 32-bit) but when I try to connect the machine that runs on Windows Server 2008 R2 it fails. It gives me the same error saying "Opening the STANDARD LonMark Device Resource Files. File not found in the LonMark Device Resource File catalog."
Any input from you folks will be much appreciated.
