Trane RTAC
Would love to have a service manual on the compressors, but that seems too much to ask for at our local trane office...
They can't even tell me what part numbers I need...
Chiller: RTAC 1854 UH0N UAFN L1NY 1DDN BN0E N10N R0EX N
Comp 1A: CHHP0N1TKE0N112A
Comp 2A: CHHP0N1TKE0N092A
I have two of these at a site, and they want the 1 year oil filter change service done since no one has ever done it, and they have been running for 8ish years...
So I assume I need:
Oil Filter
Oil Filter Check Valve
Oil Injection Solenoid
Trane POE 48 Oil
7/16 MPT x 1/4" access valve
The manual keeps talking about an oil siteglass too, but there is not one anywhere. Is there a oil sightglass kit you can get?
Also need a Evap Out Temp Sensor, Flat Cable Type, they can't figure out the part number for that either...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
And if anyone has the compressor service manual, any service bulletins, oil filter change instructions, proper way to check oil level when you have no site glass, etc... would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for any help!It is impossible for one to learn what one thinks they already know"

First off I would not change oil filter unless you have found your drop across the filter to be a problem as they are oversized filters and not meant to be changed.

The way you check oil level is to run unit for about 20min. Shut unit down connect refrigerant hose to oil drain valve on oil line and a another one on service valve on discharge line with a sight glass in the middle. Then find the level of the oil in the oil separator with sight glass. The 85 ton compressor should be about 7 inches from the bottom of the separator and the 100 ton about 8 inches. +1 to -4 is acceptable.

Wrong !!!!!!!!
All parts are located by unit serial # in the parts ID system . It doesnt matter what type of equipment you have if you need parts the first thing they ask for is the serial # period . The serial # identifies exactly what unit and any options it may have to best source the correct parts .
The oil filter should be changed after the first year/season then only as required after that .
Its changed after the first year so any start up/manufacturing debris is removed .
All you need is the filter and the gasket ...done .

Why change the filter? Don't need all that for oil filter change. Just the filter and a gasket & maybe the oil. You'll need to have techview on your laptop to change the evap sensor, are you aware of how to properly splice the bus cable? The sight glass you speak of can be purchased @ any refrigeration supply house, hook it up to 2 hoses and look for the level. It's the same as checking the level on an RTAA. It sounds like you may need some training on this unit, they can be challenging for 1st timers.
