Learn how to read schematics. <----- Really important.
When i first started i would write down the m# and S# off the unit and when i got home i would look it on the net and kinda look and follow the wiring diagrams, it really helped.
we are all guilty of this rookie mistake, dont forget to turn on the rtu when your done cleaning/pm on them. i have had a few and the boss wasnt happy.

Don't:
try to stop a spinning pulley with your hand
try to spin the belt off while it's still moving
Do:
make sure power is off before sticking your hand where it shouldn't be
It`s better to be silent and thought the fool; than speak and remove all doubt.

Learn!
Installing a new part correctly is as important as testing the machine thoroughly after it's installed
When troubleshooting, it's important to know how it works to find out why it's not working.
Ditto on the internet research and finding schematics. Learning something like that in a more comfortable enivronment helps when you're on a rooftop in the blazing heat/driving rain/extreme cold.Every customer you take for granted today will be someone else's tomorrow.
