I like Billy and the Top, mostly the early stuff, but they can't touch this.

Never cared for Malsteen. All he plays is a bunch of arpeggios.

I like Al Di Melola though.

    Yeah, Trower was underrated.

    Thumbs up Southern Fried Rock

    RIP Hughie Tomasson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqJ_V7ay3E8

Always had a soft spot for Toy Caldwell's playing, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52ai_MFbGDo

Don Barnes is pretty good, too:

If your going to mention southern rock you cant forget Allman Bros. or Molly Hatchet.

This has always been one of my favorite bands...very progressive. Growing up I only found one friend that appreciated them as much as I did.

Wonder if there are any other fans of these guys out there in HTALK world.

Man I really dig southern rock from the 1970's , incredible musicianship and attitude.

Never cared for Malsteen. All he plays is a bunch of arpeggios.
There is not alot of that in the " Trilogy Suite " ...and yes Al DiMiola is incredible , very cool . I think Malmsteen is the best ever , but I have nothing to gain by arguing that. On that note you should enjoy this from Paul Gilbert , lol.
