Has anyone had experience with the Copper 4005MK Clamp on probe and also the Cooper 4005i?
Thanks!

4005 mk, I just sent mine out for warranty after 20 uses. Very accurate but now can see how it's thin sensing ribbon can be an ongoing problem. Nice long cord with it.

I haven't seen the sensor on the 4005MK (thermocouple) but it is most likely different than the 4005i (thermistor)
The thermistor on the 4005i pipe sensor is sandwiched between a piece of foam and small thin copper heat sink.
Other thermocouples I've seen are two pieces of thin ribbon thermocouple material welded together in the middle that contact the measuring surface directly.
After about a year I killed my 4011 that uses a similar sensor to the 4005i after I removed it from a very cold frozen pipe. The copper shield had torn away and by the time I found it was not able to glue it back on. The 4011 was worth every penny so I bought a replacement 4011 and a 4005i.
The 4005i is too heavy to work really well in every mounting position on smaller pipe sizes other that it is very useful IMO“If You Can Dodge A Wrench You Can Dodge A Ball”

Here is a shot of the 4005i (left) and the 4011 (right) with a 1/4" cap for size reference.
Anybody have a close up of the 4005MK???

Nytefog, More tools?!?!?! Damn lol.
I own the 4005i and mainly use it while working on water source heat pumps for condensing water temps. Its a year or 2 old and I have not had any problems. I often wish it had a light on it tho..
As far as the 4005mk. I have the thermistor version I use with the Blue Cooper Box and my digicools. I really like that clamp and will be buying another to use with the digicools for this summer..Gotta have the right tool for the job!

Brother, i have an addiction! I love tools. That's step one, admitting i have a problem! I sell my old tools/instruments to other techs in my company so i don't actually spend that much. The better more accurate tools i have really, really helps in completing jobs quicker with better accuracy and customer satisfaction in my opinion. Plus customer, I know you do Commercial so its not as common, like when they see techs using test instruments because it makes them feel like they might have someone working on their equipment that is doing a thorough more precise job and pay a premium for better work.
I really want that new CPS Pro-Set recovery machine. Its the size of a Vacuum pump and is faster than the Appion Twin! I've never had problems with CPS products. I don't feel like lugging around my slow big blue Promax recovery machine anymore.

I'm going to make my own Molecular Transformer (or Condenser) after seening cps's version. They claim is will increase recovery machines speed by 50%. It will be easier than trying to put the recovery tank in a bucket of water.

What type of digital psychrometer for measuring wet bulb do you use? I've got a Testo H2 and Fluke 971. I was thinking of trying the new Fieldpiece but i'm not a fan of that brand very much.
