My favorite is the fusible link on L2.
Went on a service call yesterday. Found a 13 SEER outdoor unit, hooked to an 8 SEER indoor coil that still had the original piston in it (a 1987 carrier coil). The outdoor unit was installed 4 years ago, the compressor was replaced last summer, they didn't get all the bolts back in.
Checked pressures, it was almost empty of refrigerant, then checked further and found lots of surprises. One pic I missed getting was from the furnace that had the blower motor run cap taped to the wires going to the blower motor.
But looks like I'll be installing a entire new system (furnace, coil and new outdoor unit) next week.

come on now, one bolts more than enough
that Al to Cu connection is priceless (especially if it catches fire)

How many Amps is a White Fuse wire good for?
I don't know how they sleep at night?
Is That a HAIER? I heard that Train/AM Standard was getting them to build a second line of equipment for them. That China made stuff is Junk!
Actually it is a Nordyne. They guy had at the time just recently moved into the house and then the AC died, poor guy thought he was getting a good deal on the replacement unit. Just didn't anticipate shelling out close to a grand to replace a compressor 3 yrs later under warranty.

wow thats crazy, where in va are you working?
Poor compressor is just trying to make a break for it.....just one more bolt to FREEDOM!!!
wow that brazing was performed by a plumber, im sure the valves were wrapped and the unit had a tail-light warranty.
