Pump pulls right down into a vacuum. The discharge starts at 100 psi and does not move. Which was about what my ambient temperature was for R22. In my other thread one poster says if there is something going in then something must be going out. I'm going back tomorrow with a new TXV and hoping I can get by with just changing out the power element.

that does sound like whats happening, a pump down.
That power element should be a good start.

Is your scroll a digital scroll?
It still sounds like it's pumping down. If it was unloaded, it wouldn't pull into a vacuum. Like you said, no compression would take place due to the separated scrolls.

plugged filter drier or condenser also something to look for. I've had em plug up completely and the systems are exactly what your describing
