Was wondering what age you guys started out doing hvac and how hard and long it took to climb the ladder?
I started as a young black man in West Virginia at the ripe age of 3 and one half.....man was I oppressed.
Then I moved to Michigan and got free everything...life is goood!
“Now the freaks are on television, the freaks are in the movies. And it’s no longer the sideshow, it’s the whole show. The colorful circus and the clowns and the elephants, for all intents and purposes, are gone, and we’re dealing only with the freaks.” - Jonathan Winters
I started when I was 18,Working on the wardens A/C!
Started in the summer between my sophomore and junior year of high school
It is a long hard road, but I can honestly say that you get out of it what you put into it.
17 years old. Worked for a father/son company as the sons apprentice, roughing in houses. Company disband when I was 18.
Month later, started with my current company.
25 in august.
"Better tell the sandman to stay away, because we're gonna be workin on this one all night."
"Dude, you need more than 2 wires to a condenser to run a 2 stage heatpump."
"Just get it done son."
Been in it 7 years and have finally made it where I want! LOVE what I do and make a lot more than most of my friends that have $70,000 in student loan debt. Great choice if you're willing to put in the effort.
Entered trade school at 19. Worked 28 years for K-12 school system. There wasn't a ladder. We were scum of the earth, just above janitorial staff, unless the central office A/C unit was down, then we were considered gods! (until it was repaired, then back to scum).
