voyage leaks

Lately there seems to be a trend in Trane condenser leaks on voyagers. What really don't get is when the system is under warranty and the repairs are not covered. Like the other day the reversing valve has factory weld cracked. I repair the weld and nothing is covered. Local rep tells me refigerant is not considered a part. But these factory defects have been a pretty common occurence lately. Just wondering if Trane changed something there welds look very suspect right off the truck.

depending on how far into the warranty you are, but on a new install if i found a leak i would make the case they owe me gas, labor and or parts. why should the vendor or customer get stuck with that cost.
