My current YJ vacuum pump seems to work well... however I really would like to get a new one and have the YJ as a back-up.
Anyone have experience with the Appion vacuum pump (not the recovery pump)? THX!

We have two and won't use our old vacuum pumps anymore. Oil changes on the Appion is so easy we do it with every evacuation. If I'm evacuating after a repair I change the oil more than once if it gets milky or dark.
The oil is visible on the Appion. Other models only show at the sight glass. I dismantled one of the old pumps and found lots of crud in the oil sump.

I've got a Robinair, two stage, model 1500c, 45 years old, serial #120 and needs a crane to get it on a rooftop. Maybe it's time to get a new one and send mine to the Smithsonian. I'll watch here for further reviews.

I had a 15001 that weighed in @ 56lbs. Worked like a champ. Gave it away a few years ago, along with a RRU 30 recovery machine.

it seems like Appion is the most reliable tool company in the industry, other than klein or craftsman for your basic needs, appion seems to make the best tools for us, I finally splurged and bought a set of their hoses for my testos and they're nicely made and havent had issues with them. I say go for buying their pump they have great tech support and they wont do you wrong

I recently picked up the Appion and it works really well, the oil changes was the deciding factor on purchasing it. Compared to my yellow jacket pump it beats it hands down!

I bought a G-5 Twin AND a TEZ-8 today. Read over the paper, and plan to use them tomorrow.
