Question on a gas electric package unit
I work for a general contractor and we are doing a tenant improvement project. The owner requested we use his own HVAC contractor, so we complied. About a month ago a removed an existing 4 ton gas electric package unit for relocation and left the unit on its side.
My understanding is, that would be bad for the unit as compressor as oil will travel to the lowest point.

The oil travels throughout the system during normal operation. While leaving the unit on its side is unorthodox, i dont think ot would cause any damage. The framing on the unit is designed to support the unit right side up though.
