For the past year and a half I (Arzel Tech trainer) have been doing joint trainings across the country with Ted Brown (Unico national Trainer) regarding zoning the Unico system with an Arzel zoning system. We have been hearing succes stories from our contractors for the last three years who have been zoning the Unico system.
In regards to dropping equipment size by 1/2 ton when zoning, the eigth edition of Manual J covers that very well.
We have been testing High velocity zoning in our lab for the past two years and have developed some sound design and installation standards.

Do make sure your bedroom doors are undercut suffieciently to allow the required cfm back to the return or have transfer grills installed from the bedrooms to the hall to accomidate this if the doors will be closed.
