    nordyne system

just got back from a call. New customer 3 year old system. Last year 1 1/2 lbs 410 was added by installing contractor, as customer says. Turn on system. Running in a vacuum, 20psi head. So charge is gone. Put 200 psi nitro and a trace of 22 in and it holds while i check every single joint in the entire system with infra detector and big blu. isolate condensor and put 450 psi in check everything again and it holds. No oil anywhere and it is holding. Left it charged with nitro gonna check it on thursday. Have there been problems with these units? I'm thinking I'm going to evac, charge and put locking caps on they are crying poor.

Its a small world lol. The weather has been in the middle 80's for the last month or so, but it stayed pretty cool today. Just waiting on the heat.

3 yrs. old, double check the inside coil. If so, call Nordyne warranty issue.

Never had issues with Nordyne 22, the early 410 units had ball valves for service valves that leak like crazy.

Bad indoor coils along with the valves of the older units but at 3 years old it shouldn't be the valves but very likely could be the I/d coil. most of the coil leeks I found were on the inner part of the coil not on the u bends.

I would say use a micron gauge when you evacuate,if it holds 500 micron than I would say your safe to recharge, btw I never heard of anyone putting in a trace of r22 in a 410 system.is that an acceptable practice. Just wondering.
