when I go on interviews sometimes employers ask to
make copy of drivers licence epa card and ss card.
right at start or before I leave. I dont get hired and
    they take copies.

    Whats that all about.

I figured they want to check my background and driving
record and stuff but then I wonder are they idnetity
theifs collecting ss card drivers license number for
    credit applications.

I once took a cert class and gave my social for some
    odd reason.

Then months later when I applied for unemployment I
was told that that school had me down as emplyed and
    part of my work history.

I am thinking its only best to allow copies of my
stuff after I have been hired or at least after I
    filled out application.

I heard on radio that dept of labor or some agency can
check small business employees for having documented
    legal status workers.

I figure these people are collecting info to send in
as legal workers if ever asked and then only hire
    mexicans to work.

Anymore I think it is a good idea to copy the information and check it out before I hire someone. I have found a lot of guys will give you that stuff figuring that you probably wont check it out to see if it is lagit.

How often do you hire someone and find out they have a ton of DUI's and you can't insure them....... happens to me a lot.

Ever wonder if that EPA card they show you is lagit ?????

    I requset it, because:

    1. Drivers License: to make sure you have a legit one, and fewer than 3 points, so I can insure you.
    2. EPA Card: Make sure you have one, and check it for it being legit
    3. SSN card: To check to see if YOU are legit, and that I can hire you.

You could either give me the numbers, or copies. After hiring, it is mandatory with me that I have copies, mainly for the I9 paperwork.

If I don't get all three, won't hire you.
I get plenty that tell me, OH, I'll bring it in, I forgot it, and never hear from them again.

Any time you get a ticket, dui, etc. that goes on your driving record it counts as so many points.
