Well that site took me to Ingersoll Rand and they have a couple positions available. They have two jobs I might be qualified for.

One is "HVAC Technician Helper" which requires no experience but, based on the description, its more of a warehouse job than anything else. I'm not too interested in that though.

The second one is "HVAC Field Technician" and that requires one year. I do have almost that, although its been 5 years now since I've last worked in the field. I'd definitely like to talk to them about this since I am starting a 1 year certificate program in May.

So how does that typically work out? Would I be working FOR Trane? Or would I be working for Ingersoll Rand who works on Trane's stuff?

It sounds as if you're unaware that former The Trane Company, now Trane Inc., is part of the conglomerate, Ingersoll-Rand. The positions you listed might be BAS, not HVACR. It's hard to tell w/the way Trane lists them.

So, maxster, is an HVAC Service Tech - an HVACR Service Tech? And is an HVAC Field Tech - a BAS Tech? I'll say it, being an HVACR Service Tech in a different Union other than the UA is bogus!

any adjative between HVAC ...&....TECH is BS it all one union here in NYC 638B .BAS might be a IBEW Local #3 on new installs..but i've seen and know guys in Trane here that are HVAC service guys in the union and do BAS service troubleshooting.
