been there done that with cms. Don't do it, slammed in summer 20 hrs a week in the winter, and they could care less if you sit at home.
One good thing is They give techs iPads.

It was the same in Maryland also (Nextech NE)
It was for next tech owned by CMS,(in MD) I heard next tech lost some big contracts recently.
Don't know if it had anything to do with them charging there customers to install wire ties on every PM. The office would tell there techs you have to "find" stuff on pm's and charge them.
wonder which ones they lost. I still see one of the guys from when I worked there, I'll have to ask him. Always seemed to me they were one big contract loss away from disaster all the time. They keep their spare vans in glen burnie. I always find it funny how there are always a bunch of vans there in the winter when everone quits because they give you 10 hours a week and then come spring and summer all the vans are gone to the next poor victims!
Between 2007-2012, they lost Fred's, then they lost Belk. I don't know if u all ever knew the maintenance supervisors for these but they both landed and CMS as RSMs.

It wasn't bad before children, the amount of money you made compared to the actual work ( 60% of the time driving) was real good.. But children change that... Beauty pageants, football, motocross etc is real difficult when you on call or back up every weekend. Not sure about NExtech and up north, but down south it normal for a tech to cross states just to get Cato ( big woman store) PM done.. CMS wasn't a job, it was an adventure..:-)

from time to time, I will see a package unit on the roof of a Mall that has all of the sheet metal screw heads painted........ I always wonder if that was a " treat for rust" scam by our dear friends....... I will always look at the condenser fan motor to see if it is new. it usually is.....

Pulled my time with that bunch as well. Put 40,000 miles on a van in 6 months time and worked 60 + hours every week. Was expected to find a " pm add " on every job to cover driving time to the next job. I was at a gas station looking at a drink machine one Friday night about 8:00 explaining to the manager why it would not work with no pressure in the tanks as she was telling me she was going to call my supervisor and when I left there they wanted me to go to a job on the other end of the state to start a changeout. Explained to the office that I could not get to the job before they closed because the customer closed at 10:00 and I was easily 5 hours away. Was on the job next morning at 6 to do the changeout ,that they had not pulled permits for, and after that had to do 2 more pm's. Figured it was time to go! They tried to hold my last check because they said my phone bill was too high and that took a nasty phone call from a lawyer friend and a faxed copy of they sections of the labor codes to help them understand that I would really appreciate getting what I was owed. I cannot in good conscience recommend them to anybody in the industry.
You young guys need to smarten up.
When you see the experiences of others at these places, do yourself a favor, and don't let these outfits convince you that this is good for you, your career, your customers, or the trade.
If they can't get you to work there, these companies will die out.
Then, better companies, ones that charge the client appropriately for EXPERTISE will take their place.
There is a revolving door in commercial retail, with everyone racing to the bottom of the rate card. Companies change service providers like Presidents, because of the natural rules of business, succinctly stated by this gentleman:

Another note to you young guys:
This also applies in government, to the notion of benefits doled out to the voting masses, who are beholden to the government.
For example, there is no way that the current healthcare reform law can provide what was promised. That is why the estimates of its TRUE costs have tripled. It will cripple America, and leave you financially crippled in the process.
But, then again, you young guys who voted for it didn't think that one through.
