Any way,
I'm look for insight from our Health Care HVAC Tech's.
I was woundering what type of refrigerators your using for medicine. Are they commercial or residential. I'm talking about the one's that are in Patient care area's ( ED, SSU, ICU, PACU, ENDO, MED SURG ) Those area's

In new england everybody is making the move to Follett. They make a very good product with excellent recovery time. A good warrenty and great tech support. The units themself are a really well made product and worth every penny.

Walgreens went from G.E home models to Marvel Scientific a couple of years ago. The
G.E.s had too much temperature swing for the vaccines, many call backs and they weren't
really "broke". Never got a single call on a Marvel Scientific.

To answer your question, most hospitals use residential, commercial, and specialty refridgeraters and freezers designed for what ever product their storing. About a year ago, I spent 6 months installing Temp-Track units in our local hospital to bring them up to new fed. regs. regarding product temps. In their eyes (as with every one) as long as it works, cheaper is better.

They ditched Marvel quite a few years ago (3-4?) around here. They now use Sanyo Biomedical.

Harris and Sanyo for ultra-low
Kolpak walk-in for morgue crypt.
Follet, and Wilshire for ice.
