Supermarket system changeout
Hi Everyone,
I have a potential customer that wants us to do a refrigeration system changeout.
Currently they have 3 Hussmann Protocol units.
Model # PH05PK-MFMFMFMFMF
another Model # PH06PK-LRLRMFMFMF
I was not able to get hold of the third unit model #.
They have several display cases (freezers and coolers),walk-ins. All the typical stuff you find in a medium sized supermarket.
The units were installed in 1995 or 1996.
Over the years there has been a hodge podge of repairs taking place. Electronic controls have been bypassed, some cases were removed from the protocol system and placed on standalone condensing units, mechanical time clocks have been placed on all the units, some of which one timer controls 2 or 3 cases, and the list goes on.
They don't want to go back with Hussman they say due to lack of support.
What do you guys think of a Cascade Co2/404a system ?
Any particular brand that you would reccomend due to ease of operation, serviceability, and reliability ?

My first question is, do they intend to replace all the existing cases as well?
If not, going with a cascade CO2/R404A or a Glycol Secondary Loop system can be scratched off the list.
Then I would say a lot might depend on how the work must be done...like does this remodel have to be done on the fly with minimal interruption to their operations? Most likely the answer is yes, so that often drives the direction of the type of system you go for.
I've been out of the market systems loop for a long time, but from what I've seen out there, I'd go with Hill/Phoenix.

Yes Ice, they plan on changing the cases as well.
Yeah I think they would want minimal disruption to their operations considering its one of their larger stores.
I was looking at the Hill-Pheonix website and was interested in the Second Nature series Co2 sytems.
This system is gonna be in Jamaica.
Is there anyone at Hill-Phoenix you or anyone could reccomend that we talk to ?
Thanks in advance.

Hill Phoenix would also be my first choice but I would definitely consider Zero Zone. We are installing two of there racks right now and Im impressed.

Because of your location, I'd suggest initially looking into the Secondary Glycol system that crackertech has suggested.
For a contacts, it's probably best to start by calling or emailing the main office in Conyers, GA.
