Siemens Integration
I'm working on a BACnet chiller integration into a Siemens control system and am needing the application builder and firmware loading tool to get my points in the BAS. Anyone out there have a copy they could forward onto me?
Thanks!

Those are tools that are Siemens only. You wont be able to get the licenses

Another example of how open BACnet is!

First, which Siemens system are you working with? There are two current systems (Desigo and Apogee) and at least half a dozen legacy ones.
Second, why do you think you need all those tools to integrate chiller?

It is for an Apogee system with a PXC Modular controller with P2 and BACnet. These tools are required to build the application and add it to system profile to view the points. The application has to be built and then loaded into the controller for use in Insight.

I'm sorry, I don't know much about Apogee.
Anyway, if you would like to add new chiller with existing BACnet controller inside, I don't understand, why you need to build an application and load it into some controller.
All BACnet scada systems I worked with could discover BACnet points directly from the chiller. Then all you need to do is to build some graphical display and that's it. OK, maybe setup some histories, alarms and schedules -- and BACnet is really good in it.

Zep913,
You may be better off having your customer purchases the BACnet Client option for Insight. Then add a BACnet MSTP to IP router between the the chiller and Insight. This would allow you and your customer more options for BACnet expansion in the future and avoid having to have the app builder tool needed to make the PXCM a proprietary BACnet gateway.

So instead of buying a PXC with bacnet capabilities I would have them buy the single site bacnet license for insight and set up a new bacnet bln. If I went with bacnet IP instead of MSTP then I could avoid the router correct? I haven't had much experience with setting up the bacnet in insight.

Zep913,
With the Insight BACnet client option you can add a BACnet BLN and use BOB Siemens (BACnet Object Browser ) to discover and add new BACnet devices and points. If your chiller is BACnet IP ready then skip the MSTP to IP router. Unless you have had experience with upgrading and or installing options for Insight you would be better off having the BACnet client option set up for the customer by Siemens. Once the BACnet client option for Insight has been installed then using BOB is pretty straight forward and easy to use.(Discover devices and add BACnet objects to database. If you have a spare LDO ,LDI and LAO available on a existing Siemens controller near the Chiller then I would always try to utilize a hardwired input and output for (enable, status and setpoint )for direct control. I find that sometimes software integration with equipment is best left for all the whistle and bell points.
Regards,
Debug

So just because it says lon or bacnet don't expect to get in and have your way.
