I have a need to keep a storage area of ~200 sq ft cooled to 55 degrees for my new method of losing money - wine making! There are no windows and I'm dealing with a roll up door (mini storage location) and have been told that the portable air conditioners aren't capable of cooling to that temperature. Any ideas as to what I would have to install?

You're using a ministorage that will let you install your own AC system? That's unusual.. usually they don't want any modifications.
200 sq ft at 55F sounds like a walk-in fridge to me.. hope it's well insulated. You might even want to ask over in the refrigeration forum - if you have the budget for it.
Doesn't winemaking require pretty constant temperatures? I know people who are big on wine cellars really care about keeping the temperature VERY constant at all times..

money and a refigeration unit installed by a contractor. seriously you will need area evaluated by a refigeration company so that heat load can be calculated and insulation added if needed to control humidity infiltration to keep condensation off walls etc.

You were told right.
You need a refrigeration unit.
Better find some way to insulate that roll up door, or it will rust out.

Thanks!
Thanks guys, I'm meeting with the owner next week and this is good input. I thought it would be easy to just put a portable cooler in there.... It is correct that temperature uniformity will be important along with humidity maintenance. I'll move on over to the refrigeration section.
