Trane chiller control upgrades

I hear trane no longer supports ucp2 stuff,and im not sure if they will support ch350 much longer now that they have adaptaview.Are any of you guys using another control systems to retrofit trane centrifugals? i've seen a company called micro control systems that sells controls but just don't see any specific trane retrofit stuff on there website.Dont want to shell out 4k for tranes tu800 software needed for adaptaview.

The Adaptiview is simply the control panel that replaces the Dynaview control panel on the CH530. It still uses the rest of the CH530 system. I expect the Adaptiview panel to allow Trane to extend the life of the CH530 system even longer. The Adaptiview/CH530 is able to retrofit to all Trane centrifugals (I think). Any decision to stop supporting UCP2 is news to me. I'm sure others here have current news and will weigh in.

I have some UCP2 machines with L01 serial numbers. That makes them barely 11 years old. There's no way that is correct. They have stopped officially supporting UCP695, but depending on what you need, some stuff is still available.

IMO, the best MCS has to offer doesn't even come close to Adaptiview. The only thing that gives them a competitive edge is price.

CH530 is a control platform. The original interface to it is called a Dynaview, and they made something called an Easyview for air cooled chillers. It should have been called "Easy-No View" because it gave virtually no information without Techview. Adaptiview is still a CH530 platform just with a different style of interface. It looks to be pretty sweet. Basicly just reiterating what was stated a few replies earlier.

The reference I made to the CH530 & TU being the same is that THE CONTROL PLATFORMS are the same the components (OTHER THAN THE PROCESSOR) are the same . I'm fairly confident that everyone would understand that the processor speed on the newer stuff is faster , thats technology for you .
Open the control panel door on a chiller with 530 and a chiller with TU on it , you will see the same components (GENERALLY SPEAKING) .

CH530 has its brains in the display module , TU has a separate brain module inside the panel , the display is exactly that, just a display the chiller doesnt even need it to operate, try it pull out the display cable and she'll keep right on truckin.
If you want to be cheap order all the CH530 parts as separate items and build your own control system the software is free or bite the bullet and get Trane to do the job for you as its a Trane only install , no need to buy the software .
Now the yelling will start again about Trane strong arming customers ....Blah Blah Blah Blah ..... Let the games begin on your marks ............

To build your own (if you're a non Trane employee), using off the shelf items, wouldn't you have to use a Dynaview since TU service tool is Trane proprietary? Is Dynaview still available? And I'm also waiting for the yelling....

You can do it either way. If you want to be cheap, use the DynaView and the free TechView software. Or, you can use the AdaptiView and buy the TU software (or make friends with someone who has it).

Both platforms use the same components except the display and brain. If you built up a DynaView system, you can come back in the future and upgrade to AdaptiView.

The DynaView is still available and will be for many years. Centrifugals are the only chillers that use Adaptiview. All other new chillers are still using the DynaView.

UCP2 is also still available.

On the Adaptiview platform the UC800 microprocessor driving the adaptiview display replacing the CH530 microprocessor and display, for the service tool TU software replaced KestralView/Techview software while as indicated the LLIDS (Sensors, transducers, I/O boards, stepper, etc) remained the same

Thanks R123. If I had thought about my question about availability of the Dynaview, it would have been something like " let's see, my two RTAC's have Dynaview....". I reckon I just put my full-on brain fart out there for all to see.
